We also say, there is barely an autumn here in Andalusia...in fact, we're
having one, now. Of course, the sun is still shining most of days but the fig trees
are shedding their leaves....
...The almond trees get thinner.
....Les amandiers sont moins touffus.
The landscape around the sierra slowly turns autumnal.
The walnut trees are in all their autumnal glory too.
And yes, now is the time to bake walnut & hazelnut financiers...
So delicious and easy to make. The recipe is here.
Ideal for a cozy autumnal tea time...

When I invite friends for dinner, I try not to be desperately perfectionist...
but...I do love making the extra effort to offer them a nice dessert.
So last night was moka cake festival....This delicious cake has everything
to be tempting....Coffee buttercream, Gioconda biscuit soaked with rum flavored
syrup and sprinkled with toasted hazelnuts. The recipe I've got is from
my beloved Pierre Hermé and you can find it here (scroll to bottom). It's a real labour
of love which usually takes me an average of 4 hrs, but you can make the coffee
buttercream and the Gioconda biscuit, one or two days before and assemble
it on the d-day. And do I need to mention that this labour of love is really
worth it...every inch of it!
What's even better is to have some leftovers the day after...Sunny
sunday morning + moka cake = (almost) heaven

All we need is love and sweetness....not idiotic violence
What to say? After hearing the news, invaded by sadness and anger,
I thought about the bereaved families, the unbearable grief...I said a silent prayer.
And yes, I felt selfishly relieved that my sister, my niece or my cousin
didn't find themselves in those places when violence struck.
Let's dream...Let's fill ourselves with love and sweetness...
I´ve baked lemon financiers to send to my sister and my cousin in Paris.
Not much really...just a little note of love in the tempest.

the violin-throbs
of autumn wound
Des violons
- De l'automne
D'une langueur
- Monotone."

Dear followers of this little blog....are you still there?
I'm so sorry I keep being invisible here. I do confess, Instagram has been
stealing my heart and attention...until when I wonder, but just now I'm just
hooked to it. So what happened since my last post?
Well, the dried tomatoes have been lovingly gathered and put into jars.
Some have been sent to a friend in Ireland who complained about having
a rainy summer and so that he could taste a bit of the Andalusian sunshine.
And then, there were more tomatoes coming in the house....big ones this time.
So, I've tuned to tomato sauce making.
Yes, this is me....Miss Little Tomato Sunshine...
Well...after all this hard work, I think I deserve this title at least!
Oui, c'est moi...Miss Little Tomato Sunshine...
